About the Estate
A wine estate located in the heart of the Nantes vineyards
The Domaine de l’Aiguillette is established in the heart of the Muscadet vineyards, in Mouzillon, within the Sèvre-et-Maine appellation area. Our vines are located just a few hundred meters from the Sèvre Nantaise river and the nearby Nantes Vineyard Museum.
The estate spans 51 hectares, with one-third dedicated to the AOC appellation featuring the Melon de Bourgogne grape variety, used to produce the Muscadet we are so proud of. The remaining two-thirds consist of vineyards with the following grape varieties : Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Sauvignon… which flourish around our cellars and across Gorges, Le Pallet, and Monnières.
We believe in local distribution: we personally deliver across Western France to stay connected with our customers.

A legacy of generations and passed-down expertise
Before being named Domaine de l’Aiguillette, the estate was formerly known as “la Cave des Frères Grégoire” (The Grégoire Brothers’ Cellar) referring to two brothers, Patrice and Vincent Grégoire. A well-known surname in the Mouzillon area, boasting generations of winegrowers.
These two brothers shaped the same lands inherited from their parents for 30 years.
In 2020, upon their retirement, the brothers wished to pass on the estate. That is when we met. Eighteen months of transmission and passionate apprenticeship in the craft of winemaking followed. With a single goal : to carry on the estate’s reputation for quality and tradition. Since this handover, the philosophy has remained the same: respect for the terroir, winemaking methods, and a love for the vineyard. All while maintaining the simplicity and conviviality that make the estate a success.

Forward-thinking estate owners…
Patrice and Vincent Grégoire were true pioneers in the Nantes vineyards. Through hard work and experimentation, they opted for mechanical vine pruning in 2005. This choice was driven by the need to speed up the laborious pruning stage and reduce the overall workload. It was a true innovation in the Nantes region, where such machinery was rare at the time. The result: less stress for the estate owners, significant time savings, and a major reduction in vine diseases. In fact, before the advent of pruning shears, vines were pruned with a billhook into low bushes, and this is the same result achieved by MP (mechanical pruning). Thanks to this method, certain buds are protected from frost, and pruning wounds are less numerous. Pruning machines are now a common sight in the Mouzillon landscape and beyond. However, mechanization is reserved for varietal wines, as it does not meet the specifications for the Muscadet AOC.
…and pioneers in reviving old grape varieties!
Our predecessors were also among the first to replant ancient grape varieties in the Nantes vineyards in the early 2010s. A prime example is the Plantet (or 54-55), a variety that was widespread on every farm before the great era of Muscadet promotion. Though it was banned in the Muscadet appellation area until recently, it is highly disease-resistant and produces a very aromatic wine. Would you like to taste this rare wine for yourself ? Find it in our shop under the name “Cépage Oublié” (Forgotten Grape Variety)!

An estate now offering a diverse portfolio of wines
To date, our estate offers a range of Nantes region wines consisting of 10% red wines, 20% rosé wines, and 70% white wines. Our Muscadet holds the AOC Muscadet-Sèvre-et-Maine sur lie designation, and the 2022 Gorges communal cru is now bottled, revealing a great Loire wine—fresh, finely aromatic, and with excellent aging potential. Our other cuvées are not tied to an AOC, granting us total creative freedom to offer you atypical wines, some resulting from bold blends.
